Bye Tree

The time has come to take down the tree. As we talked about taking it down Kara kept saying "bye tree, see you next year" and hugging it. Kara is going to be so sad in the coming days. Every morning it was her routine to turn the tree on with all the other lights around the house (using the remote). When she was done she would come and get me to sit in front of the tree with her and look at the pretty lights and ornaments.

Here are some addition pictures of Kara playing in the ornaments. Yes, she had to wear her frosty sweatshirt for these! She wants to wear it all the time!! Can a child have too many ornaments? It has only been 2 years and this is what she has collected so far. As I post this I realize we did not pics of all of them, we missed 3 or so as we were taking the tree down. Oh well you get the idea! Her favorite.. you guess it! "frosty the snowman", it plays music too.

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We sure did! Kara was a hoot to watch this Christmas opening her gifts. She helped open everyone elses gifts too, not just her own. She was so funny when she saw a box from elderbeerman.. "oh its clothes" and walked away to get another. She did not stay around to see what was in the package. I thought children did not like getting clothes for Christmas until later. I am not sure what is her favorite gift this year, her train table, a keyboard, or ponies. Kara did get a remote kitty for Christmas too. She kept backing away from it saying "it mean, take back to store". Now funny enough it is the toy that has to go with us everywhere.

This Christmas I have to say I really enjoyed watching the joy on Kara's face. She is becoming her own little person right before my eyes. She is so precious! By the way Kara had to check and make sure Santa ate her princess cookies she left him before she opened her gifts! :)

It was nice getting to see our families this Christmas, we really enjoyed spending time together. Thanks to my brother and my new sister in law we were able to get some family pictures in front of the tree! Kara with her baby Hannah

Holiday Fun!

This season just flew by! Better late than never to post, right!? Kara had tons of fun though and that is what counts. We have been busy making crafts, baking, decorating, going to winter wonderland and of course singing songs.

Kara and I made and decorated Christmas cupcakes together. It amazes me how much she enjoys helping. Who care about the mess! When it came to helping me decorating them I think she ate more than she decorated. :) She was hilarious eating her own cupcake. She did not want to get her hands and fingers all messy.. result why not eat it like a puppy. Hey whatever works!!

Over the past few weeks Kara has made some cute crafts. The wreath that I was suppose to make from MOPS, the santa hand print (thanks Ericka for the idea), and some misc. foam holiday artwork

The first gingerbread house was made in the Phillips household. lol No one ever said it was easy! Tip for next time do not use the frosting that comes with the kit. Kara was thrilled to make this candy house. She told everyone that came to our Christmas party, "look! I made it!"
I cannot finish this post without adding a video of Kara and her daddy singing rudolph together. Talk about melting my heart...

Time for Christmas Pictures!

Our Family Christmas Card

And so was the time for Christmas pictures! This has to be
Kara's favorite season. She has been talking about the "pretty lights" for months now. If you ask Kara if she would like to go shopping she says "Menards, pretty lights". (she gets to walk around and touch everything in their wonderland) No this is not the only place we have to look at them, anywhere we stop is far game! I think she has her daddy's Christmas bug in her! Thank goodness she always says our tree is prettier. "Mommy guess what!? Santa comin' town, bring toys..sit on lap take picture." She said this one day while we were driving in the car listening to christmas music. Now she will tell anyone she sees. I am so amazed at her comprehension to put all that together. :)

It does not end here.. Her favorite movie and song is Frosty the Snowman. This is the song she wants sung to her at bedtime. Out of nowhere is will start singing the song herself and ask you to sing along. Everyone smiles as they hear her singing "her song". Other Christmas songs she likes to sing are Rudolph the red nose reindeer, and Ho Ho who wouldn't go (not sure the name on this one). Kara has been telling everyone Ho ho Merry Christmas!! So cute. Tis the season!

24 Weeks

Today I am 24 weeks along and had my ob check-up. Everything is looking great and right on track! The baby's heartbeat was lower (140's) today than at past appointments (160's). The right upper quandrant pain is back again with this pregnancy. With Kara it was only the last month though. Boy do I have a long way to go! I may need to go again for a gallbladder ultrasound just to make sure all is ok.

Kara's 2 year Birthday Pictures

Did somebody say Princess!? Yes Kara had an overtop outfit for her special day to match the theme of her birthday party. The tutu (had made online), the crown shirt (thanks Elle!), and of course she just had to have squeaky shoes to complete the ensenble.

Kara was a little shy at first, but warmed up quickly and was smiles the rest of the time. It was so hard to pick out our favorites! We are very happy with the results of her bday session.

Kara's 2nd Birthday Invitation

Boy it seems like forever ago that Tom and I had this photo session with Kara for her 2nd birthday invitation. She really was a joy to photograph this time. Is it just me or is Kara looking so grown up?

Here are some additional pics of our bug we took that day:

First Post

Yes, this is my first post. I made a promise to myself I would get a blog started so here it goes. :) Time goes by too fast, and it is the little moments in life that make the memories.

To follow this post: I will be catching up on the busy month it has been.
